Thuringia celebrates the reinvention of porcelain in 2010

Without any connection to Johann Friedrich Böttger in Meissen, porcelain was also successfully produced for the first time in Thuringia in 1760. Then as now, Thuringian porcelain was much sought after by collectors all over the world. 16 museums have got together to celebrate this 250th anniversary. From April to October 2010, they will be exhibiting their major collections of Thuringian porcelain. Porcelain Manufactures i.e. Kahla Porzellan GmbH offer work visits, guided tours and manufactory sales all year round.
