Saalfeld Fairy Grottoes
The -most colourful show grottoes in the world- (Guinness Book of Records) have made the town of Saalfeld with its fairy grottoes known far beyond the borders of Germany. In less than 300 years, nature created a unique and fascinating wealth of shape and colour in the former alum slate mine. A mysterious world deep in the ground awaits visitors, together with a spacious park with numerous leisure facilities surrounding the show grottoes.
