A wealth of interesting items relating to the cultural history of the town and region await visitors to the museum. Originally no more than one small room with local history, the museum now has both permanent and special exhibitions on two floors. From stray finds dating from the Stone Age through to exhibits from the Industrial Revolution on the threshold of the 20th century, visitors can gain an impression of how times changed in town and country, presented with the help of examples such as iron ore mining, cloth-making and book printing.
